Shakti is shown in many forms. As Parvati, she is the gentle consort of Shiva. As Kamakshi she is the Greatest Mother. In the form of Durga, the warrior who conquers forces that threaten the stability of the Universe. The earliest term applied to the divine feminine, which still retains its popular usage, is Shakti. All interpretations of the word 'Shakti' hold common one parameter, Power. Specifically, Shakti means Power, Force and Feminine Energy. She represents the fundamental creative instinct underlying the cosmos, and is the energizing force of all divinity, of every being and every thing. Devotees believe the whole universe to be a manifestation of Shakti, who is also known by her general name Devi, from the Sanskrit root 'div' which means to shine.

STRAIGHTEN OUT are the world’s premier Stranglers tribute band with an extensive set-list that spans two solid hours as they re-create the 'early years' sound of The Stranglers, complete with a Hammond organ and Minimoog synth; the same models used by Mr. Greenfield himself, back in the day! The growling bass sound and the quirky guitar riffs are all there to be heard as is the dual vocal 'attack' from the two frontmen a-la Burnel/Cornwell as they rip through the Stranglers’ classic: 'Peaches', 'Hanging Around', 'No More Heroes', '5 Minutes', 'The Raven', 'Walk On By', 'Straighten Out', 'Down In The Sewer' and many more as they cover the Stranglers' early classic albums and beyond. Straighten Out will take you on a nostalgia trip that transports you back to those raw, powerful, exhilarating times when The Stranglers emerged through the quagmire of mediocrity to produce some of the finest music ever written. Straighten Out will put you back in that place! Bassist Shaggy and keyboard player Mick ('The Doc') were together in previous Stranglers tribute band 'Four More Heroes' and it was only natural that these two continued on after their demise to form 'Straighten Out' given their love of Stranglers music and the desire to keep playing live. They set the platform with the growling bass and swirling keyboard sound so essential to reproducing the authentic Stranglers sound. Joining them are Jet ‘Beets’ Beety on drums and Phil Harvey steps up to give you the 'Hugh' element to complete the fearsome foursome. Straighten Out are a must-see tribute band!
