NOTNORTH brings the drama back into music, letting expression eclipse perfection.

Frontman David Alan Thornton engages with the universal themes of love, sex and mental health through personal imagery and one-of-a-kind melodies. Bassist Andrew O’Connor and drummer Chris Lovejoy officially joined the project in 2025. The band’s cover of ABBA’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” gained traction in 2025 when a clip of a live performance went viral on TikTok. New fans likened the vibes to that of Tim Curry in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Tool, and Jethro Tull. The band likes to say they’re what happened when Frank-n-furter fronted Queens of the Stone Age.

NOTNORTH is a little vampire rock, a little grunge punk, a little glam… it’s certainly a little dirty. And isn’t it healthy to get a little dirty sometimes?
