San Rocco with Special Guests The Aminiotics

San Rocco are a 5 piece rock band based in North Dublin. The band is composed of Jim McDonagh (Vocals), Youen Horner (Guitar), Darragh Lynch (Guitar/Synth), Sean Julian (Bass), and Paul Stokes (Drums). The band’s unique sound comes from the eclectic tastes of its members. Drawing on elements of new wave, post punk and rock, San Rocco have been sculpting their sound over the past few years playing gigs across Dublin including Whelan’s Midnight Hour, and venues such as The Grand Social and Workmans Club. 

In April 2023 the band started recording what would become their debut EP at Black Mountain Studio, Co Louth, produced and mixed by Richie Kennedy (The Murder Capital, Interpol, Ed O’Brien).

The first single ‘Enola’ was released on the 7th of September. Hot Press listed ‘Enola’ on their Tracks of the Week describing it as a “heavy, pulsating, new wave banger featuring a Peter Hook-esque bass riff and existential lyrics”. GOO Magazine described ‘Enola’ as “a fast paced track featuring a captivating high-tempo bass riff that’s superbly complemented by pulsating drums and a swirling guitar as lead singer Jim McDonagh’s haunting vocal bellow out the lyrics”. ‘Enola’ has already asserted itself as a favourite in the band’s catalogue gaining radio play on 2fm, 2XFM, 8Radio, Limerick’s Live 95 and Indie Rocks UK. ‘Enola’ is already San Rocco’s most popular song on Spotify amassing nearly 4000 streams in a matter of months. 

‘Bind My Hands’ the band’s second single of 2023 was released in October. The track featured in Hot Press’ Tracks of Week – “With tracks like this on their debut EP, the only way is up for San Rocco.” Bind My Hands also featured heavily on Irish radio with regular plays on 8Radio, 2XFM, KCLR, Limerick’s Live 95 and Dublin City FM.

 San Rocco currently has over 1000 monthly listeners as we head into the final stages of 2023. The band recently supported the legendary Sack at their headline Grand Social gig this December rounding off their most successful year to date.

‘People Verses’, the band’s debut EP, is scheduled for release in February 2024.
